Artist statement

I’m a printmaker, I enjoy exploring the use of a variety of materials including inks, watercolours, and graphite pencil; as well as experimenting with techniques such as mark making. Additionally, linear drawing is another important element of my work and illustrates my appreciation for the artist Bryan Nash Gill. Looking at his work in particular over the last year has informed my practice. Specifically, focusing on detail, size, and perspective, I have been able to appreciate my canvas and build confidence in what I create.

As an emerging graduate, my aim is to continue to adapt and edit my work so that it flows and pushes the theme of dialogue between the artist and the observer. In the same way I am keen to recognise the bonds and connections that come from mixing methods and materials.

In short, I’m looking forward to my future as an independent creator and building a body of work that reflects this chapter of my life. A way to achieve this is by collaboration within the artists community.
